Nevada Alcohol Sampling and Tasting Laws
Last checked: November 6, 2026 (NRS 597 loaded).
This is not legal advice. It is a plain-English summary of public law. Rules change and local governments often add their own. Verify with the state agency linked below before you plan a tasting.
- A grocery store may serve samples if it holds a retail license, gets an annual sampling permit from the local governing body, and buys the product from a Nevada-licensed wholesaler.
- A supplier, manufacturer, importer or wholesaler may assist the store. That help is limited to pouring and giving product information or education. The store stays responsible for compliance.
- Local governments may set reasonable time, place, manner and frequency limits.
Verify
your county's or city's own rules and any server-card requirement for the pourer.
