Pennsylvania Alcohol Sampling and Tasting Laws

Last checked: November 6, 2026 (PLCB page loaded).

This is not legal advice. It is a plain-English summary of public law. Rules change and local governments often add their own. Verify with the state agency linked below before you plan a tasting.
  • Pennsylvania is a control state. Vendor tastings happen inside Fine Wine and Good Spirits stores and are booked through the PLCB Tastings Scheduler.
  • Before tastings are approved, the PLCB requires: the Terms and Conditions for Vendor-Sponsored In-store Tastings, its insurance requirements, and a Delegation of Signature Authority form. The page also links a vendor dress code, code of conduct, and the product purchase process.

Verify

the current Terms (they set who may pour, sample limits and lead times) and the insurance requirements, both linked from the PLCB page.
